The pendulum test, carried out in accordance with BS 7976-2:2002+A1:2013, is the preferred pedestrian slip test method recommended by the Health and Safety Executive and the UK Slip Resistance Group. It is the only slip test evidence accepted by UK courts in civil slip injury claims. The difference between an accredited and a non-accredited report is critical: only one is genuinely defensible when an incident leads to litigation, RIDDOR investigation or regulatory scrutiny.
